The Scorch Trials by James Dashner
The Scorch Trials by James Dashner is the sequel to The Maze Runner and the third book in The Maze Runner trilogy. It continues to follow Thomas, Theresa, and the boys from the Glade in their quest to find the cure for The Flare, as well as their freedom. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It flowed well from the first book and didn't leave me confused at any point. This book is still action packed. We are introduced to new characters and they have a lot of importance. Again, you are always being surprised with this book. The world building in this is great. The author explains it so well, you can visualize it almost like a movie in your head. One reason why I feel as if this book is so great is because of the descriptions of the scenes. Every scene is described so in depth, it's almost like you are watching it happen. "It looked like a very dense silver gel. Persistent and stubborn-like it was alive. As soon as Winston pushed a portion of it up and off his eyes, some of it would slip around his fingers from the side and try again. Thomas could see glimpses of the skin on his face when he did this, and it wasn't pretty. Red and blistering." The author knows how to go into detail but not take it too far. This was a very great novel. I would recommend it to anybody.
